Common Questions
How long does it take to onboard a new Odoo client with Sadeem?
Under 5 minutes. When a subscription invoice is confirmed, Sadeem automatically creates the DNS record via Cloudflare, generates the SSL certificate, deploys the Docker container via Portainer, installs the module package, and configures S3 backups — all without manual intervention.
Is Sadeem similar to Odoo.sh?
Sadeem is self-hosted and gives you full control over your infrastructure, similar to Odoo.sh in automation but without the monthly per-instance fees. Unlike Odoo.sh, Sadeem supports both Docker and DBFilter modes, works on any cloud provider, and covers Odoo versions 14–19 with one subscription.
How many client subscriptions can I host on one Sadeem Master Instance?
Unlimited. Every tier allows unlimited client subscriptions per Master Instance. The tier determines how many Master Instances you can run: Starter and Professional include one (1) Master Instance, and Partner includes up to three (3). Era Group in Saudi Arabia and Raqmia Technologies in Qatar each run their entire Odoo hosting portfolio on a single Sadeem Master Instance.
Do I pay per client or per server?
Neither. You pay one flat annual fee based on your tier, and host as many client subscriptions as you want on your Master Instance. No per-client fees, no per-server fees, no per-environment fees.
What Odoo versions does Sadeem support?
The Sadeem management module runs on Odoo 18. You can manage client instances running Odoo 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 — multi-version support is built in.
What's the difference between Docker and DBFilter?
Docker gives each client a fully isolated container with dedicated resources — ideal for clients with custom modules or high security requirements. DBFilter shares a single Odoo instance across clients using database filtering — lighter on resources and easier to manage for standard setups. Both modes are included on every tier.
What happens after I subscribe?
You receive an automated invitation to a private GitHub repository containing the full source code for your tier. Professional subscribers get one 60-minute onboarding session, and Partner subscribers get two onboarding sessions plus a Slack/WhatsApp channel for direct support. You'll also receive all updates and security patches throughout your subscription term.
Can I customize Sadeem for my business?
Yes. All tiers include full source code access, and you can modify it for your internal use under the Sadeem Source-Available License (SSAL). You may not redistribute, rebrand, or reuse the code in a similar product, but you are free to extend it for your own deployments. Need custom development? It's included with Partner tier (5 hours/year), or available as an add-on at $25/hour for Odoo work and $35/hour for DevOps engineering.
What happens if my subscription expires?
Your existing Sadeem installation keeps working — you have a perpetual right to continue using the last version you legally accessed during your active subscription. However, you lose access to GitHub, future updates, security patches, and support until you renew. All license restrictions remain in effect indefinitely.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time and pay only the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal. If you outgrow Starter, the Backup module add-on is the most common first upgrade — or you can move straight to Professional, which includes it.
